Other Current Renewal Leadership Positions: Tom serves on the diocesan Ecumenical Leadership Committee, “Pray Pittsburgh,” and “Amen to Action.” He is also a leader in an ecumenical men’s ministry, “Men of Honor.”
Past Renewal and Catholic Apostolate Leadership Positions: Board/Service Committee Member of National Service Committee of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in the USA (now dba Pentecost Today USA); and Senior Coordinator of the People of God Community, Coraopolis, PA (an ecumenical charismatic covenant community now affiliated with Sword of the Spirit).
Personal: Tom considers The Ark and The Dove to be a second home, not only since he lives in Pittsburgh, but as a Duquesne University alumnus he has visited the simple, little “Holy Spirit anointed chapel” countless times over the years. His brother David was among the college students on retreat at The Ark and The Dove in February 1967 … “the Duquesne Weekend” … and who experienced a fresh outpouring of grace known as baptism of the Holy Spirit. What a blessing it was that his frequent Chapel visits led to his vital role in purchasing the Retreat Center for the benefit of future generations. He continues to be astounded that the Holy Spirit chose him for this purpose.
Tom, and his wife Patty, have been involved with the Renewal since the late 1960s, and they joined the People of God community in 1978. Married in 1974, today they have three adult children and seven grandchildren. Their community life has been a great support for strengthening their faith in God and deepening their marriage as they faced various challenges.
Professional: Tom served in the Peace Corps in Turkey from 1966 to 1968, teaching English as a foreign language to high school students. After leaving a career as a high school guidance counselor, Tom began full time employment with the community including serving two terms as Senior Coordinator.
